Greyhound Pets of America Chapters hold various fundraisers throughout the year to help defray costs of caring for the Greyhounds in their care. These events range from Annual Picnics to 5K Runs to Yard and Bake Sales; so whether you are a Chapter looking for ideas, or just looking for an event to attend in your area, be sure to check back here for all the fun time to be found around the country with our GPA Greyhounds!

GPA/Springfield, MO:

When the Chapter held their Chili Fest, President Alane Shultz had this to say about the fundraising event:

"GPA – Springfield, MO’s annual greyhound gathering is our Chili Fest Fundraiser usually held in October. We are very lucky to have a volunteer with the perfect setting for this event! Their fenced yard is huge, they have a huge covered deck area and lots of parking space in a vacant lot. We offer a chili meal with drinks and get enough volunteers to bring chips, side dishes and desserts. We get the Coca Cola products donated. One volunteer offers to make the chili. We provide special treats for the greyhounds, fried chicken livers! As you can imagine that goes over big time! We ask everyone that attends to pay $3 for the meal. We often have left over chili and sell it for $3 a container to take home. Our Silent Auctions are the main money makers. We collect those items donated throughout the year. We had boxes of 6 Frontline Plus, two veterinary dentals, boarding certificates, a private cremation certificate, a stained glass greyhound head, Care of the Racing Greyhound book donated by the AGC, a collar and lead set, Sarah Snavely tiles, gift certificates to CG, Petsmart, Greytwear and Fastjack, 2 lbs. of Missing Link, an IKEA raised feeder and more. We made $759 from the silent auctions this year. We had a greyhound guest vendor and we received 25% of her sales which amounted to a big $210! We also receive donations at this event.
As you know it takes quite a bit of work for these events but it’s worth it and it’s fun! We made $1400!"

GPA/Cape Girardeau, MO Chapter:

Our Cape Girardeau Chapter keeps busy promoting Greyhounds through various community locations and events. They hold meet and greets at events such as the Southeast Missouri Home Builders Association Home and Garden Show, and at popular restaurants such as Culver's and their local Gordonville Grill.

GPA Three Rivers, Pittsburgh PA Greyhound Reunion

Our GPA/Three Rivers Chapter (located in the Pittsburgh, PA area) recently held their Greyhound Reunion and Fundraising Event. The event was a wonderful success, and featured items and events to delight and entertain both the hounds and their humans.
